Row 4: (2 hdc, hdc 2) around. (32 hdc)
Row 5: (2 hdc, hdc 3) around. (40 hdc)
Row 6: (2 hdc, hdc 4) around. (48 hdc)
Rows 7-14: Hdc around. (48 hdc)

Beard: (with brown)
Ch 31,
Row 1: Hdc across. (30 hdc)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Hdc 10, ch 10, skip 10, hdc 10. (20 hdc, 10 ch)
Row 3: Ch 1, turn. Hdc 30. (30 hdc)
Border:
Sc down sides of beard and on bottom of beard. Put 2 sc in each corner to keep edges from rounding. Once you get back to the top of the beard, slst and fasten off. Sew two buttons to each side of the beard and then connect beard to hat with the buttons. The buttons make the beard moveable.
Enjoy!!
